Antibiotics that are commercially available have been used in poultry food for more than a decade to provide complementary support for the fight against harmful external pathogens. These antibiotics help to overcome mortality and disease in poultry farms. However, it can affect general health by increasing the drug resistance of the microflora. Since January 2006, it has been reported that the use of antibiotics in poultry diets for European countries usage has been banned. In order to avoid the prohibition of the antibiotics usage, industries need to find alternatives to provide food for poultry. It has been found that use of the lower stem powder of turmeric in the diet helps to overcome diseases and decrease amount of mortality in broiler chickens.
